 Ralph A. Austin
Ralph A. Austin, 72, of Liverpool, passed away peacefully on Sunday September 9, 2012 at Francis House after a brief illness.
Ralph was a life resident of the Syracuse area and graduated from St. John the Baptist High School in 1958. He retired from Alston Corporation after 17 years of service. Prior to that, he was employed by Westinghouse for 18 years. Ralph was a founding member and communicant of Pope John XXIII Catholic Church in Liverpool. He enjoyed traveling, playing cards, crossword puzzles, and was an avid fisherman.
He is predeceased by his parents, Frank and Arlene Austin, and siblings, Donald, Nancy (Jenner), and Bernard.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 47 years, Rita (Denhard); son Keith (Bethany) of Colorado Springs, CO; daughter, Karen (Thomas) Camp of Walworth, NY; brother, Richard (Marlene) Austin of Camillus; five beloved grandchildren, Ryan and Julia Austin, and Allison, Melissa, and Courtney Camp.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, September 14, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in Pope John XXIII Catholic Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. The Rite of Committal and burial will follow in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, Baldwinsville.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Maurer Funeral Home Moyers Corners, 3541 Rt. 31 Baldwinsville.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ralph’s memory may be made to Francis House, 108 Michaels Ave., Syracuse, NY 13208.
